About product

BF TOUCH 300A – Advanced Electrosurgical Generator for Modern Operating Rooms

The Brightfield BF TOUCH 300A is a 300 W high-frequency electrosurgical system developed for open, laparoscopic, and endoscopic procedures. It combines conventional monopolar and bipolar electrosurgery with integrated argon plasma coagulation, bipolar transurethral resection (TUR), and radiofrequency vessel sealing.

The generator features a 9-inch color touchscreen for selecting operating modes, adjusting output parameters, and accessing stored surgical programs. Its broad range of electrosurgical functions makes BF TOUCH 300A suitable for multidisciplinary operating rooms, including general surgery, urology, gynecology, and gastrointestinal endoscopy.

Integrated Argon Plasma Coagulation

One of the main capabilities of the BF TOUCH 300A electrosurgical unit is its built-in argon plasma coagulation system. The integrated argon module eliminates the need for a separate external argon coagulation generator.

In SPRAY ARGON mode, an inert argon gas flow passes through a dedicated applicator. High-frequency electrical energy ionizes the gas, creating a plasma discharge that transfers energy to the tissue without direct electrode contact.

This technique is used for superficial coagulation and the management of diffuse bleeding across relatively broad tissue surfaces. Argon plasma coagulation can be applied during selected open surgical procedures, laparoscopic interventions, and flexible endoscopic treatments.

The integrated module supports connection of two argon gas cylinders. The source specifications indicate an argon pressure of up to 3.5 bar; the required supply conditions should be confirmed in the equipment documentation.

Bipolar TUR for Transurethral Resection

The BF TOUCH 300A includes specialized BIPOLAR TUR and TUR COAG functions for electrosurgical cutting and coagulation during transurethral interventions.

The bipolar TUR configuration supports procedures performed with saline irrigation (NaCl). Electrical current is concentrated around the active bipolar instrument, allowing tissue resection and coagulation within the surgical field.

The system supports bipolar TUR output of up to 300 W. Specialized high-voltage waveforms are used to provide the cutting characteristics required for transurethral resection.

These functions are particularly relevant to urological procedures involving compatible bipolar resectoscopes. The appropriate instrumentation and irrigation conditions must follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Monopolar Cutting and Coagulation Modes

The BF TOUCH 300A offers several monopolar operating modes to meet different surgical requirements.

  • CUT – up to 300 W: Monopolar tissue cutting for surgical dissection.
  • TUR CUT – up to 250 W: A dedicated monopolar cutting mode for transurethral resection.
  • FORCED COAG – up to 120 W: Coagulation for rapid localized hemostasis.
  • SOFT COAG – up to 120 W: Controlled contact coagulation using a gentler electrical effect.
  • FULGURATION – up to 80 W: Non-contact coagulation using electrical discharge.

The availability of separate cutting and coagulation modes allows surgeons to adjust the electrical effect to the anatomical region, tissue characteristics, and surgical task.

Bipolar Electrosurgery and Microsurgical Modes

For procedures requiring localized energy delivery, the BF TOUCH 300A provides bipolar cutting and coagulation with a maximum output of 150 W for each of these conventional bipolar modes.

Dedicated MICRO CUT and MICRO COAG modes operate with limited voltage and output power of up to 50 W. These modes are intended for fine electrosurgical manipulations where careful control of energy delivery is required.

Compatible bipolar instruments can be selected according to the surgical specialty and the intended procedure.

Radiofrequency Vessel Sealing

The VESSEL SEALING function uses radiofrequency energy for thermal sealing of vascular tissue. With an output of up to 250 W, this operating mode supports vessel sealing using compatible surgical instruments.

The technology allows surgeons to perform selected vascular sealing procedures as part of open or minimally invasive surgery. The suitability of the technique depends on vessel characteristics, instrument compatibility, and the manufacturer’s approved indications.

DUO Mode for Simultaneous Surgical Operation

The BF TOUCH 300A supports DUO CUT and DUO COAG functions for procedures involving two monopolar instruments.

These modes permit two surgical operators to use connected monopolar handpieces within the same procedure, with the generator managing radiofrequency output according to the selected settings.

This configuration is useful in operating rooms where two surgeons need access to electrosurgical cutting or coagulation without changing generators.

Automatic Bipolar Activation and Stop

The system includes automatic bipolar activation and deactivation functions. Energy delivery can begin when the instrument contacts tissue and stop according to the coagulation conditions detected by the generator.

These functions support controlled bipolar coagulation and reduce the need for repeated manual activation during applicable procedures.

9-Inch Touchscreen and Programmable Surgical Profiles

A large 9-inch color touchscreen provides access to surgical modes, operating parameters, and saved configurations.

The internal non-volatile memory stores more than 50 individual programs and surgeon profiles. Frequently used settings can be recalled when preparing the equipment for different surgical procedures.

This is especially useful in multidisciplinary departments where several specialists work with the same electrosurgical platform.

Neutral Electrode Monitoring

For monopolar procedures, the BF TOUCH 300A monitors the contact quality of a compatible split neutral electrode.

The monitoring system evaluates electrical contact conditions between the return electrode and the patient’s skin, helping the operator identify changes that may increase the risk of unintended thermal injury.

Correct positioning of the neutral electrode and use of approved accessories remain essential to electrosurgical safety.

Clinical Applications

The Brightfield BF TOUCH 300A electrosurgical generator can be incorporated into operating rooms serving several surgical disciplines:

  • General Surgery: Tissue dissection, coagulation, vessel sealing, and management of surgical bleeding.
  • Urology: Monopolar and bipolar transurethral resection, cutting, and coagulation with compatible instruments.
  • Gynecology: Electrosurgical procedures requiring tissue cutting, coagulation, and controlled hemostasis.
  • Laparoscopic Surgery: Monopolar and bipolar electrosurgery, vessel sealing, and selected argon plasma applications.
  • Gastroenterology and Endoscopy: Selected endoscopic coagulation and electrosurgical interventions.
  • Otolaryngology: Cutting and coagulation during procedures where the generator’s operating modes are clinically appropriate.

A Multifunctional Electrosurgical Platform

With integrated argon plasma coagulation, specialized TUR modes, radiofrequency vessel sealing, microsurgical currents, and DUO operation, the Brightfield BF TOUCH 300A provides a broad range of electrosurgical functions in one generator.

The touchscreen interface, programmable surgical profiles, and automatic monitoring functions make the system suitable for hospitals and specialized surgical departments that require multiple electrosurgical techniques from a single platform.
