Radiofrequency Electrosurgical Unit BF FLASH 160
Reviews (0)Brightfield BF FLASH 160 is a 150 W radiosurgical unit working at a 4.0 MHz carrier frequency. It is designed for delicate cutting and coagulation where minimal thermal damage and a neat wound matter – plastic and aesthetic surgery, dermatology, ENT, gynaecology and flexible endoscopy – and offers pulse dosing from 10 ms and five stored programs.

About product
Radiofrequency Instead of Classic Diathermy
Conventional electrosurgical generators operate at lower frequencies and heat a wider zone around the incision. The BF FLASH 160 works at 4.0 MHz: energy is concentrated along the electrode line, so the edges of the wound stay cleaner and the surrounding tissue is spared. For the patient this usually means less swelling and pain after the procedure and a better cosmetic outcome.
Modes for Different Tissues
- CUT – pure radiofrequency incision up to 150 W.
- ENHANCED CUT – for clean work in fatty tissue.
- BLEND – cutting combined with haemostasis.
- SOFT and FORCED – contact and spot coagulation.
- BIPOLAR ABLATION – gentle tissue vaporisation, used in ENT surgery.
FLASH TIME Pulse Dosing
Energy can be delivered in very short pulses starting from 10 ms. This gives the surgeon fine control in microsurgery and when removing small skin lesions.
Faster Set-Up
Five individual settings are stored in non-volatile memory, so a surgeon’s preferred configuration is ready at the start of each list. In bipolar mode automatic start and stop react to tissue contact, and a monitoring system checks the neutral electrode to prevent accidental skin burns.
Electrodes and Accessories
The unit works with thin wire, needle, loop and ball radiosurgical electrodes, standard monopolar handpieces and bipolar forceps.
Where It Is Used
- Plastic, aesthetic and vascular surgery
- Dermatology and cosmetology
- Otorhinolaryngology
- Gynaecology, including cervical conisation
- Gastroenterology and flexible endoscopy
For high-power open and laparoscopic surgery the 300 W ARC 303 is the better fit.
