Reviews (0)Brightfield Healthcare AC-4503 is a digital video colposcope that shows the cervix on a monitor or PC instead of through eyepieces. About product
Colposcopy on a Screen
With a video colposcope the doctor and the patient look at the same picture. The AC-4503 sends a live image from its CCD camera to a PC through a USB capture device or to a monitor via S-Video, so findings can be explained, saved to the record or shown to a colleague.
Camera and Optics
- 1/4″ CCD sensor – at least 550 TV lines, 1024 × 768 pixels.
- 1–25× zoom – from an overview of the cervix to fine epithelial detail.
- Auto or manual focus – plus automatic white balance.
- Green electronic filter – makes vessels and the transformation zone stand out.
Light and Positioning
A ring of ultra-white LEDs around the lens gives up to 1200 lux with adjustable brightness, while the whole unit draws only about 20 W. The camera head works 200–400 mm from the patient, and the stand moves between 907 and 1270 mm in height on a five-castor base 680 mm across.
Procedures Supported
- Simple colposcopy
- Extended colposcopy with 3 % and 5 % acetic acid
- Lugol’s iodine (Schiller) test
- Examination during pregnancy
Clinics that prefer binocular optics can choose the AC-4501, or the AC-4601, which pairs eyepieces with a video system.
