Electrosurgical Unit ARC 303

One Generator for Theatre and Endoscopy

Many hospitals keep separate electrosurgical units for open surgery and for the endoscopy suite. The ARC 303 combines both roles: it delivers up to 300 W for monopolar cutting in open and laparoscopic procedures, and it offers a fractionated GASTRO CUT mode for work through a flexible endoscope.

GASTRO CUT for Endoscopic Resection

During polypectomy, papillotomy or mucosal resection the wall of the bowel or stomach is thin, so cutting must be controlled step by step. In GASTRO CUT the generator alternates short cutting phases with coagulation phases, which helps to separate tissue while sealing vessels and reduces the risk of perforation and bleeding.

Built-In Control Functions

• ARC CONTROL – adjusts voltage in real time to tissue resistance for a clean incision with little carbonisation.
• SimCOAG – two surgeons can coagulate in monopolar mode at the same time.
• AUTOSTART – in bipolar mode energy starts on tissue contact and stops when coagulation is complete, without pressing the pedal.
• MICRO – fine coagulation for delicate structures.
• Electrode contact monitoring – protects the patient against burns at the neutral electrode.

Outputs and Power

Up to three instruments can be connected: two monopolar sockets and one bipolar. Cutting power reaches 300 W, coagulation power 120 W. The EASY front panel separates monopolar and bipolar controls and shows the set power digitally.

Room to Grow

The unit can be extended with the ARC PLUS argon plasma module for contact-free coagulation of superficial bleeding over larger areas. It accepts monopolar electrode holders, ERGO BIPOLAR laparoscopic instruments and single or double foot switches rated IPX8.
