About product

4K Visualization for Surgical Procedures

Accurate visualization of anatomical structures is essential during endoscopic and minimally invasive surgery. The Sony LMD-X3200MD surgical monitor features a 31.6-inch IPS LCD panel with 4K Ultra HD resolution (3840 × 2160), allowing surgeons to examine fine tissue details, anatomical boundaries and subtle colour variations.

The monitor features a wide BT.2020 colour gamut and HDR technology with HLG support. These capabilities help display differences between brightly illuminated and darker areas, particularly in endoscopic images containing reflective tissue surfaces and deep shadows.

With a brightness of 500 cd/m², an anti-reflective screen and wide viewing angles, the monitor is designed for surgical environments where multiple members of the operating team need a clear view of the image.

A.I.M.E.™ Image Enhancement for Surgical Imaging

Sony’s A.I.M.E.™ (Advanced Image Multiple Enhancer) technology allows surgeons to adjust different aspects of the displayed image independently. The settings can be adapted to the video source and the requirements of the procedure.

  • Structure Enhancement: 6 adjustment levels for emphasizing anatomical outlines and fine structural details.
  • Color Enhancement: 8 adjustment levels for differentiating tissue colours and shades.
  • Shadow Enhancement: 65 adjustment levels for improving the visibility of details in darker areas.

A dedicated button on the front panel provides convenient access to A.I.M.E.™ settings, allowing image adjustments without navigating through multiple menu sections.

Simultaneous Viewing of Two Video Sources

The Sony LMD-X3200MD features Picture-in-Picture (PIP) and Picture-out-Picture (POP) modes. These functions allow two video signals to be displayed simultaneously, such as the main endoscopic camera feed alongside an additional video source.

Image rotation and mirror functions help adapt the displayed orientation to the positioning of the surgeon, assistants and monitor within the operating room.

Image Duplication and Automatic Input Failover

The dedicated CLONE output allows the current image to be duplicated on an additional monitor or video recording device. The duplicated signal can retain active image enhancement settings, multi-window display modes and image orientation.

Automatic input failover allows the monitor to switch to an alternative video input if the primary signal is lost, provided that a backup source has been connected and configured.

These functions help maintain an organized video workflow when several displays or imaging devices are used during surgical procedures.

Video Connectivity for Surgical Equipment

The monitor includes 12G-SDI, HDMI 2.0b, DisplayPort 1.2 and DVI-D connections for integration with compatible endoscopic cameras, video processors and medical imaging systems.

Protective rear covers and cable management components help organize connections on surgical equipment carts and within integrated operating rooms.

The monitor also allows connection of an optional Sony FS-24 footswitch. Depending on its configuration, the footswitch can be used to control selected display functions without operating the front-panel buttons.

Designed for the Operating Room

The flat front surface is designed for convenient cleaning after surgical procedures. The monitor has an IP41 protection rating at the front and IP31 protection at the sides and rear.

The Sony LMD-X3200MD complies with IEC 60601-1 electrical safety requirements for medical electrical equipment. It can be installed on a surgical imaging workstation or incorporated into an integrated operating room according to the facility’s equipment configuration.

Clinical Applications

The Sony LMD-X3200MD is intended for displaying medical video images during diagnostic and surgical procedures. Its 4K resolution, image enhancement capabilities and multiple connectivity options make it suitable for:

  • Endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery using 4K imaging systems.
  • Robot-assisted minimally invasive procedures.
  • Abdominal, plastic and neurosurgical procedures.
