Proctoscope

A proctoscope (rectoscope) is an endoscopic instrument for objective examination of the rectum and distal sigmoid colon. When carrying out sigmoidoscopy using a modern rectoscope, not only a detailed study of the colon mucosa is carried out, but it is also possible to take material for a biopsy and conduct minor medical procedures.
